Parents

A lot of times parents send their kids to CCD and Youth Group thinking that is all they need to be formed in their faith, but that is the farthest thing from the truth. These ministries are just supposed to be supplements to what is being taught in the home. Yes, we know you probably don't have a degree in Theology, and you may not be a dynamic speaker, but the foundation of faith is strongest when it is built at home. You don't have to know everything. To be honest you never will, but you should make sure you keep up on your faith journey so you can help you child through his or hers. We have many Adult Education courses and events at St. Catherine's and I encourage you all to try to attend some! Please contact Lori Barch for more info on these events. Youth ministry is such a beautiful and blessed ministry in our Church, but nothing can ever replace the love and guidance of amazing parents like yourselves. The Church says, "Family catechesis therefore precedes, accompanies and enriches all other forms of catechesis." Catechesi Tradendae 68. Know that I am praying for you all and your families, and please pray for me as well! :)

There are so many ways for you to be involved with the Youth Group, and I really need it! You can join the CORE team, or you can be on food or fundraising committee.  You can chaperon some of our events, or honestly anything thing you can bring to the table! If you have the ability to help out at all, please contact me (Sean) by clicking here or calling the number at the bottom of the page. If God is calling you to help, I promise we will find a way to use you! Thank you and God bless!
